Sayyadieh Fish with Rice Recipe


Serving 5 people

Ingredients:

2-3 fish fillets (marinated for few hours in olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar, oregano, rosemary, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, chopped cilantro, salt, and pepper)

2 cups basmati rice

2 diced onions

1 can cooked chickpeas

1 cup raisins

1 cup peas

1 cup diced carrots

4 cups fish broth

saffron or turmeric for coloring

salt and pepper

Tahini sauce:

1 cup tahini mixed with 1/2 cup lemon juice

1 diced garlic clove and salt (Add some water if

needed)

Sauté onions

add chickpeas

vegetables

1 tsp turmeric

1 tsp ginger

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp allspice and salt

Add the rice, then 4 cups fish broth. Cook on low heat for 30 min.

Meanwhile, place fish in an oven-safe pan and cover with foil, and put in preheated oven at 400ºF for about 20 min. Spread rice in a serving platter and place fish on top. Decorate with toasted pine nuts and almonds. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve with tahini sauce. Enjoy!
