We love good beauty tips, Thicker Longer Hair! We all want it!
Let’s discuss hair growth. The number one misconception I have seen at my salon is women think hair loss is normal and only happens to the elderly. WRONG! Hair loss knows no age; it starts as early as birth. If you recall as a new mother many will give you advice to not allow your newborn to sleep in the same position because they will get a bald spot. That is because constant friction in one area will cause the hair follicles to weaken and die. That is why most do not have hair on their inner thighs because we’ve been rubbing them against each other again since birth. Now I’ve given you the secret on how to rid unwanted hairs so start rubbing away.
Now the solution to reverse hair loss. First determine the problem. The number one problem I have noticed is clients are not shampooing correctly. They get in the shower and pump, pump, pump more shampoo on their head and then quickly wash it off. WRONG! More shampoo DOES NOT clean your scalp. You are just washing away your money. A quarter size amount is all you need to shampoo. “No! No!” my clients say “I have lots of hair” yes you do, but we all pretty much have the same size head and what you should be shampooing is your scalp NOT hair. Apply a quarter size amount of shampoo on your scalp and massage that in with your fingertips, making sure you are cleansing the scalp. Your scalp is what needs to be cleaned well, not your hair! Your scalp is where the oil and dirt lives so it is very important to properly shampoo. If you are not removing the dirt that lays on your scalp it will cause buildup which clogs your pores causing dandruff, oily hair, and HAIRLOSS!
As a woman you will go through stages where hair loss is apparent, you can’t escape it. It will come from a bad diet, postpartum, age, stress, mechanical and environmental damage but YOU do have a choice. You can choose to accept it, or conquer it and take control. The first thing you will want to do is change your shampoo and use a thickening shampoo for a month or so. The second thing you will want to start are scalp treatments. You can do this by visiting your local salon. It is a 10 minute relaxing scalp massage that will awaken the nerves and stimulate the hair follicles to reproduce. You will need to also continue this for one month one to two times a week. Third, and is the most important is drink more water; it will help revive your dry hair and nourish your scalp.
Another misconception is how we use our conditioner; some leave it on longer thinking it will soften their hair while most apply it to their scalp and hair. The conditioners main purpose is to open the cuticle (hair) and deposit some moisture in the cuticle (hair), but if you are applying conditioner on your scalp you are opening up your cuticle (hair) and allowing your hair to slide right out. So NEVER EVER APPLY CONDITIONER ON YOUR SCALP! A general rule to remember is never apply any product on your scalp other than shampoo and a product that specifically says apply to root. And please people stop with the oils, the coconut, olive oil, castor oil, it literally kills me, blocks any oxygen I had in my lungs, when I have to blow-dry your hair. Ok oils are great, you’ve probably heard the saying “too much of a good thing,” and this absolutely applies when it comes to using oils in the hair. If a little bit is good, a lot isn’t necessarily better. Olive oil (has antioxidants, kills bacteria such as dandruff & scalp acne), Coconut Oil (full of fatty acids and proteins, strengths the hair), Castor oil (age old beauty secret for increasing hair growth). Before you go pour oil all over your head, make sure know how to use it correctly to get the benefits without harming your hair! If not washed properly off the scalp it will clog pores and cause irritation and hair loss. Oils seem most beneficial when used in small amounts to coat hair or reduce frizz and hair may not respond well to being coated in large amounts of oils. So a quick recap, want thicker fuller hair, Shampoo your scalp very well and limit what you put on your scalp and take the time for yourself and get a relaxing scalp massage. It really is a win win situation.
Moving on to how to get longer hair, CUT IT!!! I f your hair needs 3 inches chopped off, dongo in to get a 1/2 inch cut. Theres no point! Be brave and cut whats dead and the hair will flouish and begin to grow. Now I’ve shared with you our best beauty tips so please let us know how it works for you.
